Astrodome Visit

Following our successful skipathon, we were able to book a visit from the Astronomy Roadshow which visited Year 5 on Monday 14th October.

Inside the astrodome, we were able to see projections of the stars and see how they appear to move across the sky.  We built on our understanding about the way that the Earth and Moon move in space and were able to ask our expert visitor some of the questions that we have been gathering during our learning in the classroom.

We also investigated how gravity on different planets affects weight and were able to look at and hold real meteorites.

Did you know that they are called meteors when travelling through space but meteorites once someone has picked them up?

It was a great experience to end our learning about space.

Thank you to all those who helped us raise money by sponsoring us!
