Early Years Hub for Excellence

Hi everyone!

It’s week 5 of our ‘Rhyme of the Week’. This week it is Baa Baa Black Sheep. Watch the video for the actions and join in the singing with your child. We have added a sheet with the words and symbols for the children to follow along with you.

We would love to see videos and pictures of your children acting these out. If you are comfortable posting these on the hub Facebook page that would be great, or on the 50 things page.

Hi everyone!
Times are tricky at the moment and nothing seems normal, but your child has their placement for school in September and that is reason for celebration!
We would like to get you all involved in a little project to help your child get prepared for school. This is being rolled out across Hastings and St Leonard’s and is linked to 50 things to do before you’re 5….
The focus is on language and developing children’s Nursery Rhyme knowledge. We will be sharing a Nursery rhyme a week, 5 in total, for your child to learn and be familiar with before they start school. Each one will have a video with makaton signing to go with the words. Please practise the songs with your child and the actions that go with them.

This week’s ‘Rhyme of the Week’ is Incy wincy Spider. Watch the video for the actions and join in the singing with your child. We have added a sheet with the words and symbols for the children to follow along with you.

Happy singing and signing.
Take care
